Nearby, a district heating pipe elbow releases a steady stream of steam, rising behind frost-coated metal fencing that lines the sidewalk. The vapor catches the faint ambient light from a distant streetlamp, creating a soft haze against the dark stone. The quiet, lived-in texture of the city before the day begins, with no people present, only the mechanical breath of the infrastructure and the silent presence of the parked vehicle.
