Street Reflections in Seattle
by Elena Hobbs
First light after rain spills across a wet Seattle street corner, turning the asphalt into a mirror of gray sky and neon signs. A cyclist in a high-visibility yellow jacket leans against a rusted bike rack, dripping water from their helmet onto the pavement. In the background, the Space Needle pierces the low-hanging clouds, its red lights softened by the mist. A local coffee shop awning, striped in faded teal and white, shelters a row of stacked cardboard boxes, their surfaces slick with moisture. The quiet, damp energy of the city waking up, with reflections of traffic lights stretching long and distorted on the wet ground.
