Under the mixed glow of sodium streetlamps and neon signage, a narrow Bologna alleyway reveals a lived-in domestic moment. A weathered wooden balcony railing, typical of the city’s porticoed architecture, supports a laundry basket overflowing with damp sheets, while a single pot lid leans against the stucco wall, catching the orange spill of a passing car’s headlights. Below, the wet cobblestones reflect the chaotic light, and a discarded accordion rests near a doorway, its bellows slightly open.
