Street Corner in Beirut
by Teagan Dixon
A wide, horizon-aligned view of a Beirut street corner lit by the thick, amber haze of a summer evening. The foreground features a weathered wooden chair with a faded red cushion, its caster wheels resting on cracked asphalt stained with oil and dust. Behind it, a vibrant bougainvillea spills over a white stucco wall, its magenta blooms contrasting sharply with the deepening blue sky. Further back, the silhouette of a minaret rises against the fading light, while distant traffic creates streaks of red and white taillights. A small table holds a simple fruit bowl and a plate, left behind by patrons who have just departed, showing the quiet transition from day to night in the city.
