Snow and Sun Over Lamingtons in Fitzroy

A square wooden tray holds four golden-brown lamingtons coated in white coconut, resting on a crisp linen tablecloth in a Fitzroy restaurant. North-window sidelight floods the right side of the frame, casting sharp, bright shadows and highlighting the sugary texture of the cake crumbs. The left half of the image defies logic as fresh snowflakes drift downward, accumulating gently on the tablecloth and the coconut coating of the desserts. The contrast between the warm, sunny side and the cold, snowy side creates a stark visual divide across the wooden tray. Muted reflections shimmer on the floor beneath the table, anchoring the impossible weather event to the solid interior space. The snowflakes appear as distinct, frozen droplets against the warm sunlight.
