Smokejumper Soot Forehead Silhouette Asaba Dusk

Copper-toned light washes over a riverside landing in Asaba, casting the figure of a smokejumper into a sharp silhouette. Soot streaks the forehead where sweat has dried, marking the recent intensity of the work. The subject stands with weathered dignity, the dark outline of a helmet and gear distinct against the fading sky.
