A stack of chipped white enamel bowls sits precariously near the edge, catching the harsh light, while a pair of worn turnips rests on a damp wooden cutting board nearby. The vendor’s hand, marked by fingerprints on the polished metal of a knife handle, moves quickly to slice produce for a waiting customer. In the background, the red brick facade of a corner store provides a textured contrast to the slick, wet pavement.
