Brass and leather details of an antique spyglass stand in sharp silhouette against the dimming twilight of a Northern Territory causeway. Steady rain sheets across the frame, catching faint glimmers from distant city lights that begin to glow along the horizon. The metal railing beneath the instrument appears dark and slick, reflecting the ambient moisture. Raindrops streak the air in diagonal lines, blurring the background into a wash of cool grays and fading blues. The expansive sky dominates the upper portion, heavy with storm clouds that press low over the water. one drop of water rests on the edge of the brass eyepiece, ready to slide down the curved surface.
