A tall glass of Indian masala chai with cardamom sits on the counter, steam rising into the cool air. Beside it, a glass sugar jar catches the dim light, reflecting the surrounding urban shadows. The vendor pours tea from an enamel pitcher into a waiting cup, the brass escutcheon on the cart door gleaming faintly. A quiet moment of daily routine amidst the sleeping city, with the vibrant colors of the tea contrasting against the dark, wet pavement and distant building silhouettes.
