Sandals in Izmir at Blue Hour

A narrow alley in Izmir’s Karşıyaka district glows under the deep blue of twilight, the sky reflecting off wet cobblestones recently washed by a coastal rain. In the foreground, a weathered wooden doorframe holds a brass shoehorn and a pair of leather sandals, left casually by a resident stepping out for evening air. Above, a wrought-iron balcony spills over with terracotta pots of basil and rosemary, their leaves glistening with moisture. Further down, the warm yellow light of a corner bakery spills onto the street, illuminating a wicker basket filled with fresh simit breads. The quiet transition between day and night, where the cool blue of the sky meets the inviting warmth of local life.
