At the first light of dawn in San Francisco, California, a large ship hull rests in a dry dock, its steel ribs exposed to the grey morning sky. A dockworker stands near the base of the hull, holding a metal bucket while inspecting the vessel's undercarriage. The harbor water reflects the pale light, and fog rolls in from the bay, partially obscuring the distant city skyline. Other workers move around the site, carrying tools and checking equipment. The industrious nature of the port, with the massive structure dominating the frame against the soft, early morning light.
