The dog's dark eyes and black nose stand out against the pale fur, while its ears remain perked and alert. Behind the animal, a plain courtyard wall stretches across the background, its surface textured with faint cracks and patches of faded paint. To the left, a wall sconce casts a subtle shadow, adding depth to the scene. The foreground reveals coarse gravel scattered unevenly near the porch edge, at the base of the composition in a lived-in atmosphere. Sunlight falls through nearby leaves, creating dappled patterns on the dog's fur and the wooden planks beneath its paws.
