The jar sits centered in a perfect symmetrical arrangement alongside folded white paper cards and a folded terry cloth towel. Chrome accents on the counter catch the warm glow of overhead string lights, creating sharp reflections against the cool ambient spill. Residue of purple dye stains the rim of the jar, against the sterile white of the paper. The dry season light falls through the window, casting a soft gradient across the acrylic surface and highlighting the texture of the folded cloth next to the glass. A final drop of dye rests on the metal comb's edge.
