Under the indigo wash of Kochi’s blue hour, a rickshaw driver pauses beside his vehicle on a rain-slicked street near Fort Kochi. The ambient glow from a nearby spice shop spills onto the wet asphalt, reflecting the neon sign’s harsh reds against the deepening twilight. He leans against the handlebars, one hand resting on a faded leather suitcase that has seen better days, its brass latches catching the streetlight. A mesh colander hangs loosely from a hook on the side of a passing vendor’s cart in the background, swaying slightly.
