Rice Bowl in Fukuoka

Cool early morning light spills across a narrow concrete balcony in Fukuoka, illuminating a cluster of weathered wooden sasa bamboo leaves resting beside a chipped white ceramic rice bowl. The rough, fibrous texture of the dried leaves contrasts sharply with the smooth, glazed surface of the bowl, which holds a single steaming spoon. Behind the foreground objects, a traditional Japanese shoji screen with its intricate wooden lattice stands slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of the misty urban skyline. One droplet of condensation rests on the rim of the bowl, catching the faint blue light of dawn.
