Blue twilight washes over a tight close-up of a reindeer herder standing near Djurgarden in Stockholm. Thick mist softens the edges of the subject, who wears a heavy wool coat in deep indigo. Water reflects the pale sky, casting a cool, shimmering glow against the person's face. Early spring thaw leaves patches of wet earth and melting snow visible at the hem of the coat. The herder's breath is not visible, but the damp air hangs heavy in the frame. A metal strap from a bag rests across the chest, catching the faint reflected light. The background dissolves into a haze of grey and blue, leaving only the sharp texture of the wool and the wet sheen on the shoulders. One droplet of water rests on the rim of a hat brim.
