A weathered green Chicago Transit Authority bus idles against the wet asphalt of a Lakeview street corner during the blue hour. Condensation beads on the rear window glass, reflecting the blurred red glow of taillights from traffic behind it. A lone streetlamp casts a cool cyan hue over the rusted metal bumper and the faded white lettering of the route number. Raindrops streak down the glass, distorting the neon sign of a nearby corner store into soft vertical lines of color.
