A large Rafeiro do Alentejo stands on the wooden boards of a front porch in Yaounde, its thick double coat catching the faint rim of distant street light against deep shadow. The dog's heavy muzzle and folded ears are sharply defined, revealing the coarse texture of its fur where the cool night air settles. Worn wooden railings frame the composition on either side, while scattered leaves rest on the floorboards near the animal's paws. The lighting carves a narrow highlight along the shoulder and neck, separating the subject from the dark background. Negative space surrounds the figure, emphasizing its solid, grounded presence under the low roof. The wood grain of the porch shows signs of weathering, matching the dignified stillness of the animal.
