Beside a cast-iron coffee grinder, a pair of sun hats rests against a stack of recipe cards, hinting at the long hours ahead. Outside the open shutter, the street is already waking up with the blur of mop buckets and the sharp clatter of clothes brushes against wet pavement. Potted geraniums in chipped terracotta pots line the window ledge, their red blooms against the gray concrete.
