A narrow Venetian canal stretches into the predawn darkness, the water surface reflecting the faint ambient light from distant streetlamps. A heavy wooden canal lock stands closed, its iron latches glistening with thick condensation against the cool morning air. A wild vine climbs the weathered brickwork beside the lock mechanism, its dark leaves blending into the shadows. The scene is quiet and still, with the textured stone of the canal walls rising steeply on either side. The tea-colored water remains undisturbed, mirroring the dim silhouette of the lock structure and the surrounding historic architecture in the early morning gloom.
