Under the heavy predawn darkness of Bristol, the iron structure of the floating harbor drawbridge counterweight tower stands as a dark silhouette against the faintest hint of blue in the sky. The still water below shows a distorted reflection of the industrial machinery, streaked with iridescent oil slicks that shimmer with muted purples and greens. Wet cobblestones line the quayside, reflecting the dim amber glow of distant streetlamps. A lone figure in a raincoat walks along the edge, their form blurred by the low light and mist rising from the cold harbor.
