Predawn Market Lane Glow with Steam and Lanterns

Stark fluorescent tubes cast a cool, white glare over a narrow market lane in Sosnowiec, illuminating rising plumes of steam that drift through the predawn darkness. Bare bulbs hang overhead, their warm yellow filaments against the harsh overhead lighting and the heavy gray overcast visible through the open ceiling gaps. Traditional paper lanterns line the shrine walls, glowing softly against the industrial brickwork. Steam curls around metal food trays and plastic umbrellas stacked on wooden crates. The wet pavement reflects the overlapping lights, creating elongated streaks of white and amber. In the distance, the lane recedes into shadow, where the faint outline of a person stands beside a steaming cart.
