Predawn Halifax Harbor Breakwater Tetrapods with Spray in Winter Darkness

The predawn darkness envelops the Halifax waterfront, where heavy winter surf crashes against the massive concrete tetrapods of the breakwater. Black spray explodes from the impact, illuminated only by the faint, diffuse glow of distant harbor lights and the headlights of a late-night vehicle on the nearby road. The rough texture of the weathered concrete stands out against the churning grey water, showing the raw power of the Atlantic coast. A few distant lights from the city skyline pierce the low-hanging clouds, providing minimal context to the isolated industrial structures.
