A clothesline stretches between two buildings on a narrow alleyway, holding a few damp shirts and a striped towel that hang motionless in the cool air. The faint light of early morning begins to illuminate the white facades and terracotta roofs typical of the French Riviera. A dust mop leans against a doorway, left there by a cleaner who has just finished their work. The calm before the city wakes, with no people visible, only the subtle signs of daily life preparing for the day ahead.
