A standard poodle stands in profile beside a weathered beige stucco wall in an Al Diwaniyah courtyard, its dense curly coat catching the soft midmorning light. The animal's muzzle is distinct with a dark nose, and its ears hang close to the head with precise grooming cuts. Fine dust particles hang suspended in the air just above the cracked concrete ground, illuminated by the bright but diffused daylight. The background blurs into a wash of muted earth tones, keeping the focus entirely on the texture of the fur and the calm, watchful expression of the dog's eyes. A faint shadow stretches along the base of the wall, at the base of the subject in the quiet heat of the late spring morning.
