The low tide exposes the rusted iron pilings of a Rio de Janeiro ferry ramp, standing stark against the receding water. Concrete slabs of the ramp curve downward toward the muddy banks, where small boats rest on the sediment. In the background, the jagged silhouette of Sugarloaf Mountain rises above the dense urban sprawl, lit by the warm, directional light of the setting sun. A few passengers wait near the ticket booth, their figures elongated by the late afternoon shadows. The functional infrastructure of the Guanabara Bay transit system, highlighting the interplay between the industrial concrete structures and the natural tidal rhythms of the Brazilian coastline.
