Pendulum Light Trail Over Sand in Cholon Arcade
Predawn darkness fills the glass-roofed arcade in Cholon, Ho Chi Minh City, where strings of warm lights hang overhead. A long exposure shows a swinging pendulum as a glowing arc of light hovering above a bed of fine sand. The clean surfaces of the arcade floor reflect the suspended motion, creating a mirrored composition where the light trail meets its own inverted image. Minimal visual clutter allows the rhythmic geometric energy of the swinging motion to dominate the space. The turn of the season is suggested by the cool, crisp quality of the light against the warm string bulbs. at the edge is the sharp, luminous curve of the light trail resting directly on the dark, grainy texture of the sand below.
