Mist rests on the steep, terraced streets of La Jolla, softening the sharp angles of stucco facades painted in sun-bleached whites and ochres. A woman in a tailored, oversized linen blazer walks briskly past a wrought-iron gate heavy with vibrant magenta bougainvillea, her stride confident and purposeful against the damp morning air. The wet pavement reflects the muted gray sky, while a pair of high-heeled boots click audibly on the concrete. She carries a structured leather bag, her gaze fixed forward, ignoring the quiet residential calm.
