The glossy covers reflect the warm glow of a nearby pendant lamp, against the cool blue light from the rain-streaked window behind them. Condensation beads form on the rim of a ceramic cup placed near the books, catching the ambient light. Water droplets trickle down the glass pane, blurring the view of the neon signs outside.
