Orange Light on Construction Dust Barrier Door

by Joseph Guerra

Raw concrete walls and plywood panels enclose a taped-off excavation edge in Atyrau, framed by a heavy-duty zipper door designed to block dust. The setting glows in deep orange low-angle light as the sun drops toward the horizon, casting long shadows across the rough textures of the construction site. Midsummer air hangs still under a perfectly clear sky, visible above the temporary barriers. The zipper door hangs from a metal frame, its heavy fabric slightly worn from weather and use. Behind the door, the site logic is visible in the exposed earth and structural supports. The light catches the frayed edge of a plastic sheet taped to the plywood, highlighting the grit and functional design of the temporary enclosure. One strip of orange caution tape runs along the bottom of the door frame.
