Off Rain in Istanbul

Rain slicks the narrow cobblestone alley in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district, where a stray brown dog shakes water from its coat near a shop entrance. The frame layers wet stone in the immediate foreground against the warm, glowing interior of a traditional Turkish bathhouse visible through the open doorway. Ottoman-style iron hinges and peeling turquoise paint on the doorframe provide distinct local proof of the setting. One ceramic mug sits on a nearby windowsill, its surface reflecting the gray, overcast sky as a passerby’s umbrella briefly enters the edge of the frame.
