Nighttime Funicular Ride Through Valparaiso Chile Urban Hillside Landscape

A vintage electric funicular car ascends a steep, narrow hillside in Valparaiso, Chile, under the deep cover of night. The carriage interior is lit by warm, yellow artificial bulbs that reflect off the worn wooden benches and metal handrails. Outside the open sides of the car, the blurred lights of the city below create streaks of color against the dark sky. The steep incline is lined with retaining walls and scattered residential buildings, their windows glowing softly in the darkness. The motion of the ascent shows the unique topography of the port city, with the rhythmic clatter of the tracks implied by the slight blur of the surrounding urban landscape.
