Night Gathering in Shanghai

Under the deep blue twilight of a Shanghai alley, the warm glow from a small street food stall spills onto the wet asphalt, illuminating a cluster of customers gathered around a steaming wok. A vendor in a bright yellow raincoat laughs while tossing noodles, the motion blurring slightly against the backdrop of weathered brick and tangled overhead wires. Plastic stools in primary red and blue are scattered haphazardly, occupied by locals in casual wear, their faces lit by the amber light of hanging bulb fixtures.
