Nigerian Talking Drum on Hotel Dresser

Warm candlelight spills across a miniature Nigerian juju band set atop a polished hotel dresser in Mohammedia. The talking drum features weathered leather stretched over a carved wooden body, showing deep scratches and the texture of years of use. Beside the instrument, small figurines of musicians stand in a tight cluster, their painted faces catching the flickering glow. Late summer air hangs heavy in the room, visible in the soft, amber shadows that stretch across the dark wood surface. The light highlights the grain of the dresser and the rough edges of the drum's rim. One shadow from the drum falls sharply against the smooth, reflective finish of the drawer handle.
