Neon-Lit Mezcal and Orange Slice on Marble

A short, clear glass tumbler rests on a cool, veined marble surface, its rim catching the sharp edge of a bright orange slice. The amber liquid inside glows with a warm, honeyed tone, contrasting against the deep shadows of the early winter night. Overhead, neon signs from the cafe reflect in distorted streaks of electric blue and pink across the wet glass and the polished stone. A faint, cool window light spills from the left, illuminating the dust motes and the texture of the orange pith. Condensation beads form on the glass, sliding slowly down the curve to meet the dry marble. at the edge is the precise, jagged cut of the fruit skin resting against the glass wall.
