First light after rain reveals a wide, wet asphalt street in Cape Town, reflecting the pale grey sky and the dark, jagged silhouette of Table Mountain in the distance. The horizon line is low, showing the vastness of the overcast sky and the imposing geological presence of the mountain plateau. Rain-slicked tar glistens under the diffuse, soft morning light, creating a mirror-like surface that doubles the urban landscape.
