Morning Festival Ticket Table in Dera Ghazi Khan
by Tina Guerra
Soft overcast light fills the public square near Dera Ghazi Khan, revealing a wooden ticket table prepared for an autumn festival. Colorful paper signs hang from strings of warm bulbs draped across the table's edge, their surfaces still matte and unlit. The wood grain shows signs of wear, against the crisp white paper of the tickets stacked neatly in a cardboard box. Behind the table, layers of depth recede into the distance where empty stalls stand waiting. Golden and rust-colored leaves from nearby trees scatter across the paved ground, anchoring the season. A metal tray holds pens and a small notebook, resting beside a folded tarp that covers the lower section of the table. at the edge is a single red ribbon tied to the corner of the main sign, fluttering slightly in the morning breeze.
