The dog's distinctive egg-shaped head and small, triangular ears are sharply defined against a backdrop of clipped green grass and a sky heavy with dramatic, layered clouds. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant fence line while keeping the animal's muzzle and alert posture in crisp focus. One fallen leaf rests near the dog's front paw, at the base of the scene in the transition between seasons.
