Indigo twilight settles over a narrow Melbourne laneway, where the warm glow from a corner cafe spills onto the wet cobblestones. A baker in a white apron stands by the open kitchen window, carefully handling a tray of fresh pastries. Inside, copper pots hanging above the counter catch the ambient light, against the cool evening air outside. Two pedestrians pause near the entrance, wrapped in thick wool scarves to ward off the chill. A vintage Italian majolica plate sits visible on a shelf behind the counter, adding a splash of color to the scene. The wet pavement reflects the neon signage and streetlights, creating a layered urban texture that defines the city's evening character.
