Under the harsh, bright midmorning sun of Kochi, a bustling street corner comes alive with color and activity. A vendor stands behind a wooden cart, arranging piles of bright orange oranges and green bananas alongside a tray of skewers. Nearby, a small charcoal grill sizzles, sending thin wisps of smoke into the air as a kebab cooks over glowing coals. The rough texture of the charcoal stick is visible in the vendor’s hand. Pedestrians in colorful clothing pass by, their shadows sharp on the dusty pavement. The raw, unfiltered energy of daily life, with the heat of the grill contrasting against the cool shade of a nearby awning.
