Marathon Runner Hitting Wall in Bhopal Village

Deep indigo twilight blankets a narrow village lane near Bhopal as a runner stumbles forward during the wet season. Puddles along the dirt path reflect the fading sky, casting cool blue highlights across the athlete's heaving chest and mud-splattered shorts. Turf spray and kicked-up grit hang suspended in the air, catching the weak ambient light. The runner's face shows fierce physical commitment, muscles tense and jaw clenched. Red clay soil rests on the soles of the shoes, while water ripples around the ankles. A shadow stretches long across the wet ground, ending abruptly at a patch of dry, dusty earth.
