Makeup Station Under Vanity Bulbs in Mexico City

Bright fluorescent tubes line the frame, casting a cool, clinical glow over a collection of colorful makeup palettes and a cluster of brushes resting on a dark counter. The setting is a barber station in the Centro Historico of Mexico City, where the stillness of the pre-dawn hours hangs heavy. Soft reflections shimmer on the polished metal surfaces and the glass of the vanity mirror above. Rain streaks the nearby window, blurring the dark street outside into indistinct shapes of gray and black. The shallow depth of field keeps the brushes in sharp focus while the background dissolves into a blur of warm and cool tones. One red eyeshadow pan catches the light, its surface smooth and unblemished against the rough texture of the bristles.
