Directly overhead, a LaPerm Shorthair cat sits centered on a weathered concrete courtyard wall in Thane. Its short, wavy coat shows distinct texture under the sharp beam of a rotating lighthouse beacon sweeping across the dry, clipped grass below. The feline's broad face and set ears remain still as the light shifts, highlighting the pale gray tones of its fur against the darkening night. Small patches of dust gather in the corners of the wall where the light does not reach. The surrounding yard remains quiet, defined by the stark contrast between the illuminated strip and the deep shadows of the early morning hours. A rusted metal hinge on the wall catches the edge of the rotating beam.
