Lanterns Rising in Bergen at Midnight Light

Thousands of glowing sky lanterns rise into the dark midnight sky above the historic Bryggen wharf in Bergen, Norway. The colorful paper orbs float past the distinctive colorful wooden facades of the Hanseatic buildings, their warm light reflecting off the wet cobblestones and the harbor water below. A busy crowd of locals and tourists stands on the pier, looking upward as they release their lanterns into the cold Norwegian night.
