Under the flat, diffused light of an overcast midday, a wrought-iron balcony in the French Quarter frames a candid moment of domestic life. A weathered wooden ladder leans against the rusted railing, its rungs holding a cluster of woven baskets filled with fresh produce, their textures rough and earthy against the smooth, dark metal. Below, on the stained concrete landing, a dog rests in the shade, its head turned toward a shop window where stacks of white saucers catch the soft, even illumination.
