Deep night shadows cloak the backstage changing corridor in Benin City, illuminated only by the warm, flickering glow of firelight. A runway model stands poised on a wooden ramp, her editorial confidence reflected in the dark puddles below. Dust motes hang suspended in the shafts of orange light, catching the fire's movement. Above, a giant koi fish floats impossibly through the low ceiling, its orange scales and black eyes rendered with photographic clarity against the dark room. The fish acts as a living parade balloon, its fins trailing in the still air. Foreground bokeh softens the edge of a hanging garment rack, while the model's reflection ripples gently in the water on the floor.
