Ivy Vines in Lyon

A cluster of ivy vines rests on the rough limestone wall of a historic building in Lyon, their brown, dormant stems twisting against the pale stone facade. Winter noon light casts sharp, short shadows across the textured surface, highlighting the intricate network of dried tendrils that have woven themselves into the masonry crevices. Small patches of grey lichen dot the rock face near the base of the vines, adding a subtle layer of organic contrast to the architectural detail. The brittle leaves hang motionless, their curled edges catching the bright sunlight and revealing their papery texture against the solid, enduring stone.
