Into Oven in Copenhagen

The blue hour settles over a Copenhagen street corner, where the cool ambient light reflects off wet cobblestones and the brass fittings of a vintage bicycle parked against a peeling yellow facade. Inside a small, warmly lit bakery window, a baker in a white apron slides a wooden peel into a brick oven, the orange glow spilling out to catch the steam rising from a basket of fresh rye bread. A customer in a dark wool coat stands just outside, breath visible in the cold air, watching the process through the glass. The industrial grit of the street with the domestic warmth of the interior, framed by the dark silhouette of a passing tram in the distance.
