Cold silver dawn light washes over a harvested grain field in Maine, where early spring frost still rests on the stubble. A hot air balloon floats directly overhead, its envelope displaying bold red and white panels against a sky heavy with low-hanging gray clouds. The basket hangs suspended, casting a faint, soft shadow on the pale, cut stalks below. Bare vines in the adjacent vineyard stretch in orderly rows, their dormant wood dark against the muted earth. The fabric of the balloon ripples slightly, catching the diffuse light, while the ground below remains still and textured with the rough remnants of last year's crop. One wicker basket rim catches the faint glow of the rising sun.
