Honey Light on Marble Filigree Delhi Temple

Honey-colored light pours through a high window, illuminating intricate white marble filigree that adorns the curved walls of a Jain temple nave. The stone carvings display delicate floral patterns and geometric latticework, catching the glow of numerous small oil lamps placed along the floor. Copper-toned ambient light from the setting sun outside mixes with the warm flicker of the candles, deepening the recesses of the carved arches. A second archway in the foreground frames the view, creating a layered perspective into the quiet sanctuary. Early spring greenery is faintly visible through the distant opening, against the cool, polished surfaces of the marble. The floor reflects the warm light, showing the smooth texture of the stone beneath the feet.
